Appointment Preparation

  • You must be 18 years old to have 3D Areola Restoration performed.
  • You must wait a minimum of 3 months after your nipple reconstruction before having it tattooed.
  • If you went through radiation treatment, you will need to contact your doctor to get an antibiotic because radiated skin typically doesn’t heal as well, but it can usually still be done.
  • It is mandatory for you to have a free consultation before coming in for your restoration service. This allows me to learn more about you and work with you on a plan to give you the result you are looking for. We also discuss realistic expectations and go over after-care.
  • 3D Areola Restoration is typically okay regardless of the type of reconstruction or grafting options. This will all be discussed in your consultation.

Service Specific Questions:

Is it going to hurt?

A topical numbing cream is applied prior to starting and a secondary numbing is applied during the permanent makeup service. Most people find very little discomfort, if any.

Will my eyebrows be too dark?

You have full say in the color chosen; therefore, if you want to start off a bit lighter you can, as we can always go darker at your perfecting session. While your eyebrows will get dark for a few days as part of the healing process, they will fade about 20-30% once they heal.

How long do permanent makeup eyebrows last?

How long permanent makeup eyebrows last varies from client to client. I have clients who stretch it out to doing a color boost every 18-24 months, while others prefer to come in annually. Your skin type, lifestyle and the products you use on your face all come into play when determining how often you need or want a touch up. It’s important to note that eyebrows will fade faster than body tattoos due to the fact that your face is exposed to sun and other elements that can cause faster fading. Also, women tend to use more products on their face that have lightening agents in them; therefore, causing the eyebrows to fade.

Is it going to hurt?

A topical numbing cream is applied prior to starting and a secondary numbing is applied during the service. Most people find very little discomfort, if any.

How do you match a new areola to an existing one?

If you’ve had a unilateral mastectomy, a custom color is mixed to get as close to the existing areola color as possible. You will be shown the color and a sample of it is placed on your skin for your approval before moving forward.

What if I have scar tissue on my breasts from my mastectomy?

Fortunately, we can do skin needling to correct the scar and get the skin tissue healthy. Getting the skin tissue healthy allows for better color retention for the tattoo.

Important!

It is against WI state law for anyone under the age of 18 to receive a tattoo.

Parental consent does not override this state law; therefore, no one under the age of 18 will receive permanent makeup.

Children under the age of 18 are also not allowed in the procedure room to observe.
